I AM HER ART EXHIBIT
March 27, 2025 - March 27, 2025; 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

The DuSable Black History Museum and Education Center is honored to host the I AM HER Art Exhibit, a powerful showcase inspired by the experience of Anjanette Young, a Black woman in Chicago who endured a traumatic and unjust encounter with the Chicago Police Department.
Anjanette Young’s story sparked national conversations about racial injustice, police accountability, and the lived experiences of Black women. Through the lens of art, this exhibit seeks to elevate her story, amplify voices in the movement, and inspire dialogue on the urgent need for systemic change.
“We believe art has the power to heal, educate, and ignite action,” said Anjanette Young, I AM HER Foundation. “This exhibit is not just about one story—it’s about the collective experiences of women who have been silenced and the need to listen, learn, and advocate for justice.”
Attendees will engage with artwork from local artists, hear from special guest speakers, and participate in meaningful discussions on justice and empowerment.
Join us for an evening of art, storytelling, and community.
