Mothership Connected: Book Signing and Conversation

December 6, 2025 - December 6, 2025; 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Join us for a powerful and engaging conversation with author Joshua Neblett and Marcus Chapman of TV One’s Unsung, as they shed light on the overlooked legacy of the women of Parliament-Funkadelic.

While Parliament-Funkadelic revolutionized funk music and earned a place in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the women who helped shape the group’s iconic sound were not recognized. Neblett’s book, Mothership Connected, brings forward the untold stories of Mallia Franklin, Lynn Mabry, Dawn Silva, Debbie Wright, and Shirley Hayden — the essential contributors who helped define P-Funk, Parlet, and the Brides of Funkenstein.

Through exclusive interviews and the voices of funk legends including George Clinton, Sly Stone, and Bootsy Collins, this history explores the creativity, innovation, and resilience of these trailblazing artists. It is a long-overdue acknowledgment of their influence, artistry, and perseverance.

Now, after decades in the shadows, their story is finally being told.
