The DuSable Black History Museum and Education Center will host a celebration to say thank you to its supporters and patrons!
Join us at the DuSable Museum as we celebrate our 64-year legacy of lifting up cultural artistic creations and history with a special screening and live performance celebrating ALKEBULAN II, the powerful sequel to GRAMMY® Award-winning artist Matt B’s African-inspired album. Recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, ALKEBULAN II explores the struggles, resilience, and triumphs of our ancestors—mirroring Matt B’s own journey through life and music.
Filmed across Namibia and South Africa, this visually stunning film, directed by GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Angela V. Benson and co-directed by Matt B, was crafted with an all-African production team and showcases emerging creatives in music, fashion, and storytelling. Featuring a rich blend of traditional African percussion, orchestral grandeur, and spoken word, ALKEBULAN II is a soul-stirring experience that pays homage to the past while shaping the future.
The program will include a light brunch and is FREE and open to the public.
